We are very excited to release an improved GM Game Screen to beta users this week that addresses some of the more common problems based on user feedback.
While we improve the performance and experience of Astral, we felt it was time to start cleaning up some of more confusing bits of the interface. We have been listening to feedback from users about the GM Game Screen and hope this clean up effort improves some of the more common issues.
We will be actively listening to and working with the beta team to ensure this new experience is meeting expectations.

Wild times call for wild monsters, or something like that. All paid supporters unlocked 24 new tokens containing animals of the wild kingdom. Paid supporters can also give these monstrous minatures a home with the new cartographers pack, containing over 170 wordly tiles. That's almost 200 assets this week!

In addition to beta testing our new UI, we have a few more changes in the works:
Our previous iteration of Drag & Drop Characters allowed users to quickly pick token art from available token packs and assign a name to add to the game. While the new (free!) Drag & Drop character feature made things easier for systems which have a built-in list of monsters, it left gamers who play other systems without an easy way to quickly create characters. We’re investigating the best way to re-implement the Quick Add Character feature from before while minimizing the overlap and any confusion that might arise between these two similar tools.
What feels like forever ago, shortly after our revamped character sheet experience, we promised to deliver the ability to assign the HP bar value as a stat, and multiple HP bars to keep track of different resources. Unfortunately global circumstances and changing priorities forced us to postpone that work. We’re happy to share that we’ve resumed work on this feature and you should expect to see it in Beta soon!
