We’re proud to announce that the freehand brush tool is ready for beta testing! In addition to drawing colors and visual fx, we also snuck in a few frequently requested improvements as well. Take a look 👀
Draw, set permissions, clear, and control grid settings all from a convenient bottom bar we're calling the "Power Bar". This new power bar will be slowly replacing some features on the sidebar to make accessing content easier.
But wait, there's more ready for beta today!
In this update, you may have also noticed grid snapping received some love too! Turning snap-to-grid off for a map will also prevent characters from snapping to the grid when moved - an often requested feature.
We plan on releasing more tools for drawing soon after this as well as iterate based on feedback, so stay tuned for more news.
We updated where settings are located on the left sidebar and made them much easier to understand.
In addition, we added a new setting "Show cursors" which, when enabled, will show the current cursor location for all connected users. This is useful if you want to know where a user is looking or to make sure they're not peeking ahead!
Thanks to cooperation with Pelgrane Press, we’ve released 4 new templates for the following games:
Also, the Fantasy AGE Template Character has had several improvements, including automation for spellpower, money tracking, incorporating new advanced roll flags, and more. Thanks to community member FlyingMongoose for spearheading these improvements!
Additionally, the Infinity templates received a round of updates this week including adding support for difficulty modifiers. Special thanks goes to community member LaMorte!
Thanks to community member Agromania, there is a new special character template available that is meant to simulate a card deck. This character can be created in your vault, then imported to any game. Checking off boxes simulates cards being removed from the deck. This deck character is officially available to all community members.
Now that the freehand brush tool is in the hands of beta users, we are eager to start the next step for drawing tools which is drawing shapes - particularly shapes that help you visualize spells like fireball.
As always, we’ll be looking at and addressing beta feedback during this process.
We're continuing to look at the forums for feature requests, support tickets, and Discord to hear what you all have to say. Please don't hesitate to reach out and voice your feedback. Our table always has an open seat, let us know what you think.
Thanks for reading and for being a dedicated Astralnaut! We look forward to bringing you more updates from the Astral Plane.
