Last week, we ramped up our internal monitoring to gain better insight into our performance. We identified a few bottlenecks and quickly got to work. Early next week, we are shipping the first performance update to our beta users. Beta users should see improved speeds and reliability in chat, dice rolling, and double-click beacons.
Once in beta, we will be working on Round 2 (fight!) of the performance and optimization improvements. Specifically, we will be improving the speed of real-time updates for map and character changes to ensure your game runs fast and smooth, even during our peak hours.
Once we confirm the improvements in beta are working as expected, we will make them available for everyone.
We continue to address reported issues and requests. As always, we are very interested in your feedback.
More requests from the community were addressed this week:
Thank you to everyone who reported issues this week.
One of the most popular feature requests on the forums, Advanced Roll Syntax has garnered a lot of attention from the community. Starting next week, we'll be aiming to implement the requested flags and additions to the roll syntax to enable a fuller and more complete experience with several game systems, including World of Darkness, 2d20 systems like Conan and Star Trek, and many more. Make sure you've left a comment on that feature request about your favorite system, and how the Astral roll syntax could be improved to better support it!
We're continuing to look at the forums for feature requests, support tickets, and Discord to hear what you all have to say. Please don't hesitate to reach out and voice your feedback. Our table always has an open seat, let us know what you think.
Thanks for reading and for being a dedicated Astralnaut! We look forward to bringing you more updates from the Astral Plane.
